Rotella Gallery™: A Fine Art Photography Gallery Opens in Soho
New York, NY (PRWEB) November 15, 2013 -- Opened in late September in New York City’s SoHo neighborhood, Rotella Gallery™: A Fine Art Photography Gallery features the unique vision of two master artists and conservationists, Art Wolfe and Robert Rotella.
Wolfe, who has released over 80 books and has a PBS series “Art Wolfe’s Travels to the Edge,” is one of the world’s most recognized photographers of fast-disappearing wildlife, landscapes and indigenous cultures. He has recently turned his artistic lens in a new direction with a dramatic series, The Human Canvas Project™, which abstracts the human form through the use of lines, patterns and texture as well as unusual angles of view. Wolfe has assembled select images from this project in addition to his photography of the natural world to be represented at Rotella Gallery.
Rotella, whose work with macro photography is unrivalled, has traveled the globe to capture an often overlooked and unseen world. His compelling images capture everything from the ethereal grandeur of Arizona and Utah’s slot canyons to the fleeting beauty of bleeding heart flowers refracted through a morning dew drop.
“Not only are we offering a glimpse into unseen and often forgotten worlds through the lens of two master photographers, we are also providing discriminate collectors of all ages and incomes with the exclusive opportunity to purchase photographic masterpieces to their specifications,” said Tony Carnevale, Director of Gallery Operations. He also runs a gallery of the same name in the Shoppes at the Palazzo® in Las Vegas, which opened in January 2012.
Rotella Gallery offers collectors Artists Proofs of five, Exclusive Editions in a series of 12, Limited Editions of 100 and Open Editions. All images from the Gallery come with a hand-signed Certificate of Authenticity. All editions are hand-signed by the artist to confirm their authenticity as an original.
Except for Art Wolfe’s Human Canvas Project, which is printed on fine art papers with archival inks, all images are printed on Fujiflex Crystal Archiv e Printing materials, which produce bright whites and rich, clear colors. Images are traditional darkroom enlargements and cold-pressed between UV-protected and scratch-resistant acrylic for a luminous and archival presentation without the weight and fragility of glass.
They are mounted in a frame of the customer’s choice and available in several different sizes and custom oversize enlargements.
The new Rotella Gallery will occupy a 7,000 square foot space on two levels, one of the largest in the city for a photography gallery. Designed by architect John Francis Borrelli, the space will feature original wood beams, wood flooring and spacious windows opening on to West Broadway, close to Houston Street.
