PhyMed Healthcare Group Elects Two New Board Members
Nashville, TN (PRWEB) November 19, 2013 -- PhyMed Healthcare Group, a physician-owned practice management company specializing in anesthesia, pain management and critical care, has elected Eugene Fleming and Barry Straube, MD to its Board of Directors.

Fleming currently serves as Executive Chairman for The Rehab Documentation Company and previously was Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of Cogent Healthcare and Executive Chairman of Cogent HMG Corporation. Prior to his tenure with Cogent, Fleming was President and Chief Executive Officer, Surgical Alliance Corporation, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, Quorum Health Group, and President, Eastern Group, Hospital Corporation of America. Fleming had served as Chief Executive Officer of three HCA hospitals prior to accepting a senior management role in the company.

Dr. Straube is currently a Director at the Marwood Group, a healthcare advisory and financial services firm based in New York and sits on several healthcare governance boards. Previously he was Chief Medical Officer for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and Director of the CMS Office of Clinical Standards and Quality (OCSQ). A graduate of Princeton University and University of Michigan Medical School, Dr. Straube completed an internal medicine residency at California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco, and a renal fellowship at Tufts University-New England Medical Center in Boston. He is board certified in internal medicine and nephrology and has held leadership roles in hospitals, physician organizations, HMOs, and for several national quality initiatives.
