Tom Anderson Show Expands to Mat-Su Valley on New Station KVNT 1020 AM and 92.5 FM "Valley News Talk"
Wasilla, AK (PRWEB) November 16, 2013 -- In the land of Governor Sarah Palin, the Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race, world record cabbages and the midnight sun, radio talk show host Tom Anderson aired his first show on Thursday night, November 14th, as the program expands to the new KVNT "Valley News Talk" 1020 AM and 92.5 FM in the Mat-Su Valley. KVNT is a FOX News affiliate.
"It doesn't get any better than broadening our listenership to communities like Wasilla, Palmer, Houston and Willow," said Anderson. "I live in Meadow Lakes near Big Lake. As a member of Susitna Rotary and the Palmer and Wasilla Chambers of Commerce, it's perfect timing for my Valley neighbors to get breaking news while affording the opportunity to let them give their opinions on Alaskan and national politics and life," added Anderson.
KVNT "Valley News Talk" 1020 AM launched Thursday morning, November 14, 2014. The impressive lineup of national hosts includes Gov. Mike Huckabee, Michael Medved, Lars Larson, Mike Gallager and Jim Bohanon. In addition, the 5 PM to 7 PM Tom Anderson Show is the first live and local daily radio talk show in Mat-Su Valley's history in the evening rush hour slot. The Mat-Su Valley is located approximately 40 miles from Anchorage, Alaska. Mat-Su's largest community is Wasilla, the home of former Alaskan Governor Sarah Palin.
The Tom Anderson Show format will include policymakers, military personnel and veterans, law enforcement and business officials, and political and community advocates as guests, as well as field a wide range of relevant issues. 1020 AM covers Anchorage and Mat-Su regions with an audience potential of over 450,000 people.
Anderson's first elected official to be a guest on the Thursday night launch was U.S. Sen. Mark Begich. "The Mat-Su Valley is one of the most integral and important commerce and community centers in Alaska. I'm glad to see a 24 hour talk-news radio format starting here in Mat-Su for Alaskans to engage in," said Senator Begich.
Tom Anderson was born in Alaska and earned a B.A. in Political Science and Masters of Public Administration from the University of Alaska, Anchorage, and a Juris Doctorate (J.D.) from Hamline University School of Law in Minnesota. Anderson has served on numerous boards and commissions including the Anchorage Light & Power Commission, Zoning Board of Examiners & Appeals, Parking Authority, Big Brothers Big Sisters and Alaska Special Olympics Board of Directors, and in the Alaska State Legislature as a state representative from 2003 to 2007. He owns and manages Optima Public Relations which specializes in branding, marketing, web and graphic design, T.V. and radio ad production, and political campaign consulting.
"Tom has remarkable talent and has worked in Alaskan and national politics for over 25 years, so his show's expansion to KVNT is perfect timing and well-deserved," said KVNT owner Mike Robbins of Alaska Integrated Media. "Tom has the content and experience most radio show hosts lack. He was an Alaskan legislator and Anchorage School Board member, is a public relations and political campaign expert, and then add the fact he writes opinion columns for the Mat-Su Valley Frontiersman Newspaper and articles for Alaska Business Monthly Magazine, and his expanding radio show becomes a win-win for Valley listeners and the entire Alaska and Internet radio market," added Robbins.
