Monroe College's Flushing Site to Offer Expanded Graduate Courses in Business, Criminal Justice and Public Health Beginning in January
Bronx, NY (PRWEB) November 14, 2013 -- Monroe College, a national leader in urban and international education that is celebrating its 80th anniversary this year, today announced that it is expanding its Queens Extension Site to offer additional courses within the Master's of Business Administration (MBA), Master's of Criminal Justice (MSCJ) and Master's of Public Health (MPH) programs through its King Graduate School.
Monroe College first offered MBA courses in Flushing, Queens during the Winter and Spring semesters last year. Held within a local hotel's meeting rooms, they were part of the curriculum for the MBA and MPH programs. Robust enrollment in those classes and strong local demand for additional course offerings within King Graduate School's other programs fueled Monroe's decision to develop an expanded, dedicated Queens Extension Site.
"We are extraordinarily pleased with student demand for courses at the Queens Extension Site, which we initially established as a convenience to graduate students living and working in that borough who would otherwise have to travel to Monroe's campuses in either the Bronx or New Rochelle to attend classes," said Evan Jerome, Vice President of Admissions at Monroe College. "However, we recognize now that there is a great unmet need in this richly diverse community for a graduate school of our caliber, and we are delighted to take a more prominent role here to provide those educational opportunities."
There will be an open house held on Saturday, November 16, from 9:00 am to 12:00 noon at the Queens Extension Site for interested students who would like to learn more about the King Graduate School and the masters degree programs available. All are welcome to attend.
Monroe College's Queens Extension Site is located at 135-16 Roosevelt Avenue in Flushing. The building is situated one block away from the downtown area's extensive public transportation hub at Main Street and Roosevelt Avenue, affording easy access to the #7 Flushing subway line, LIRR, and MTA bus routes. Complimentary parking is provided for students one block away on Prince Street.
