These awards showcase Meyer’s outstanding leadership within the female entrepreneurial community.
The 10th Annual Stevie Awards for Women in Business were presented November 9.
On receiving the award, Meyer said, “It’s amazing to see so many talented women leaders and founders recognized. The work these women are doing to build successful companies, create job opportunities, and bring innovative solutions to the market is truly inspiring.”
Meyer received Gold Stevie Awards in the Mentor or Coach of the Year-Business Services category and the Young Female Entrepreneur of the Year-Advertising, Marketing, Public Relations and Business Services category.
Both awards recognize Meyer’s dedication to growing the startup scene in Columbia, Mo. In 2011, Meyer led the organization of the city’s first Startup Weekend, and she provides mentorship to students involved in the University of Missouri’s Alumni Mentor Program and Entrepreneurship Alliance. She is also a member of 85 Broads and writes on career development, leadership, and female entrepreneurs.
“I credit the amazing mentors I had for successes in my career, and it’s because of them that I am passionate about mentoring and coaching young, entrepreneurial-minded students,” Meyer said. “Teaching those just starting out in their careers about your own successes and failures can provide them with the inspiration and encouragement they need to take the leap into building their own businesses.”
