Oak Creek Homes wants to assist families by providing donations of nonperishable food gathered from homebuyers during their Pack Our Pantry event in November. According to Ronnie Richards spokesperson for Oak Creek, “It’s important for our children, our seniors, our veterans and our communities to have access to food and we want to help out.”
The pantry of the largest model home on display at each home center will be utilized for storage of the donated food. The top six most needed items include boxed cereal, peanut butter, canned meat such as chicken, canned vegetables, canned beef stew and canned soup. Dried pasta, rice and beans round out the list of basic staples although according to Richards “nothing will be turned away as long as it’s nonperishable and will fit in the super-size model home selected for temporary storage of the items.”
Special emphasis will be placed on the food drive November 22nd & 23rd, the weekend before Thanksgiving during the companies Pack Our Pantry OPEN HOUSE. To encourage donations before Thanksgiving, the company is offering a $500 discount on a new manufactured or modular home for each donated food item up to $2500.
