Beginning November 29, shopping along Mill Avenue becomes more festive with twinkling holiday lights in all the trees. Pick out an ASU Sun Devil t-shirt at Campus Corner, find the perfect footwear at The Shoe Mill or accessorize an outfit at Urban Outfitters. While strolling the shops, stop in at one of the delicious eateries such as La Bocca Pizzeria & Wine Bar, NCounter or Rula Bula Irish Pub.
The Tempe Festival of the Arts will fill the Mill Avenue District with as many as 400 artist booths from December 6-8. With jewelry, paintings, photography and everything in between, visitors will find truly one-of-a-kind gifts for everyone on their shopping list. This popular outdoor festival features live music, tasty food, the Arizona Wine Festival and The Art of Beer.
Tempe Marketplace is bustling night and day with 1.3 million square feet of retailers, dining and nightlife destinations. A touch of holiday magic will appear at Tempe Marketplace during the “Snow What Fun” nightly snowfall, November 27-December 24 at 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. by the District stage. The eight minute snowfall, brought to Tempe Marketplace by MagicSnow, features flakes of “snow” that families will be able to touch and play with... just like the real thing.
Arizona Mills is a shopper’s paradise, featuring a full mile of outlets, shops and entertainment venues. IKEA, the Swedish home furnishings warehouse, is a destination of its own. From home furnishings and décor, to lighting and floor coverings, IKEA Tempe has it all. There is even an entire section devoted to kid’s rooms, making decorating fun and creative for little ones. And, visitors can feel good about shopping at IKEA. This holiday season, for each purchase of an IKEA Soft Toy, including fairytale-character stuffed animals, finger puppets and books, $1.34 is donated to the Soft Toys for Education Campaign. The Soft Toys for Education Campaign helps raise money to educate children around the world, and has already donated $74 million to UNICEF and Save the Children. IKEA also supports the local Tempe Community Action Agency (TCAA) with their annual Toy Shoppe. Customers can purchase an IKEA Soft Toy to benefit Unicef & Save the Children and then drop it in the TCAA Donation bin at the store exit. New, unwrapped toy donations will be accepted from the public starting Black Friday, November 29 through Sunday, December 22, 2013.
