Leading Language-Learning Company Adds Custom Authoring Tools to Support Language Educators
Nashua, NH (PRWEB) November 18, 2013 -- Transparent Language, Inc., a leading provider of language-learning technology for the government, education, corporate, library, and consumer markets, announced today the launch of a new Instructor Portal in Transparent Language Online for Education, the company’s premier, web-based language-learning system.
K-12 schools, universities, and other educational institutions who subscribe to Transparent Language Online for Education receive student accounts and can choose to purchase instructor licenses at an additional fee. Student accounts provide access to all learning materials, including the Byki supplemental vocabulary lists, Essentials Courses, grammar reference materials, social media communities, and more. Instructor licenses provide access to all learning materials that students have access to, as well as the new Instructor Portal, equipped with all the tools needed to create, edit, and assign customized vocabulary lists, grammar and culture lessons, and more.
Transparent Language Online for Education makes it economically and logistically feasible to support custom learning regimens, integration of existing curricula, and real-time creation of lessons to meet the specific needs of individuals and small groups. The Transparent Language Online Instructor Portal provides language educators with access to resources enabling the:
• organization of students into classes
• creation of customized, interactive lessons
• assignment of custom-made and Transparent Language-provided lessons
• sending of messages to classes
• tracking and reporting on student progress and activity
Transparent Language designed the Instructor Portal to support language educators who strive to integrate technology in the flipped classroom model. These powerful, new features enable educators to create compelling content that aligns directly with their curriculum. The robust authoring tools include text, image, and audio editing; these capabilities combine with Transparent Language Online’s suite of interactive activities to engage all four language skills: reading, writing, listening, and speaking. For example, teachers can easily record native- and target-language audio using the audio recording capability, requiring only a microphone, including built-in laptop microphones. The audio is then used in pronunciation practice activities to improve student mastery of the target language.
“We’re very excited to launch our new Transparent Language Online for Education lesson authoring tools and show them to ACTFL attendees first,” explains Chuck McGonagle, SVP and General Manager of Transparent Language, Inc. “As we continue to expand our suite of resources for foreign language educators, we will make the process of delivering customized lessons easier and faster than ever before.”
Transparent Language will be demonstrating the new Instructor Portal at the 2013 ACTFL Conference in Orlando, FL from November 22-24 in booth 617.
