Chicago, IL (PRWEB) November 19, 2013
Chicago real estate firm @properties announced that it has named Kevin Van Eck vice president of training and brokerage services in its River North office. Van Eck, 34, had served as @properties’ director of agent development for more than a year, overseeing the firm’s training and coaching programs.
Van Eck joined @properties in 2008 as a licensed real estate salesperson. He was an @properties and Chicago Association of REALTORS® Top Producer in 2009, 2010 and 2011. In July 2012, Van Eck was named director of agent development, a role in which he has been responsible for the creation and implementation of educational, training, and business-development initiatives for @properties’ brokers in the city and suburbs. In addition to his current responsibilities, Van Eck will oversee recruitment, marketing, and assist in the day-to-day operations for the firm’s River North office.
“Kevin has done a fantastic job leading a number of our training and education initiatives,” said @properties co-founder Thaddeus Wong. “He has introduced many of our agents to new technologies that have been instrumental in the growth of their business, and he’s also served as a great mentor. This new role will be a very natural transition for him.”
“Kevin is very personable and has a unique set of skills that has been incredibly beneficial to our agents,” said @properties co-founder Michael Golden. “This position presented a great opportunity for both Kevin and @properties, as he was seeking more responsibility and we were ultimately looking for additional ways to leverage his skills and talent.”
Van Eck is @properties’ third personnel move within the last two months. In September, Lisa Cokefair was named vice president of brokerage services in the firm’s new Libertyville office, and last week, the company announced Stephanie Klein’s hiring as vice president of brokerage services in its Lake Forest office.
“@properties grows on the shoulders of its agents, and that’s why we’ve made it a priority to provide our agents with respected and established coaches and the best resources to grow their business,” said Wong.
Prior to working in real estate, Van Eck spent several years in the restaurant industry, most recently as a partner with Corner Bakery Cafe. He also served in the United States Army and Army Reserve.
Van Eck is also involved in a number of charitable organizations. From 2009 to 2012, he served as president of the executive board of @properties’ Friends and Neighbors Community Fund, a non-profit foundation committed to supporting local charities with an emphasis on education, youth development and housing initiatives.
Van Eck attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
Established in 2000, @properties is the No. 1 residential brokerage firm in the city of Chicago by market share and the third largest brokerage firm in Northern Illinois. @properties is also the Chicago area’s leading firm for the sales and marketing of new-construction and condominium conversion developments.
