Super Bowl Champion OJ Anderson Treated By Pro Player Health Alliance For Sleep Apnea With A Dental Device
Long Island, New York (PRWEB) November 16, 2013 -- Recently, Pro Player Health Alliance (PPHA) reached out to Super Bowl Champion OJ Anderson in a continuation of their national "Tackle Sleep Apnea" campaign to get as many players treated for the condition as possible. After taking a trip to the office of Dr. Rein and Dr. Seltzer at Long Island Dental Sleep Medicine, he was able to have a simple dental device known as the Sleep Herbst made for him by Gergen's Orthodontic Lab. OJ Anderson has mentioned he is excited to share the news of his treatment to his former teammates in the league in addition to the public at the next free PPHA awareness event in Long Island on December 5, 2013.
David Gergen, President of Pro Player Health Alliance, says, "Since launching the campaign, we have helped get over 160 former players treated and spread the word to more than 1,000 people in the general public throughout the nation." Each player has rallied behind Pro Player Health Alliance after their treatment using the phrase, "Getting treated for sleep apnea has changed my life" as the most common way to describe the experience.
Pro Player Health Alliance will be working with the Living Heart Foundation (LHF) and Long Island Dental Sleep Medicine to screen players prior to the public event, where players will go through a series of stations and data will be collected for the LHF NFL HOPE Program study, founded by Dr. Archie Roberts. As a fun twist, Pro Player Health Alliance holds a free raffle at the end of the night for registered attendees that include prizes signed by the players.
