DinnerIn are now proud to announce that the free takeaway website covers all of the Southampton area with the help of DinnerIn employees, takeaway owners and the general public. No other takeaway website provides all the printed takeaway menus within Southampton in one easy to use location.
DinnerIn’s employees collected menus from takeaways all over Southampton, which were then scanned, uploaded to DinnerIn, and geocoded for the mapping system.
DinnerIn CEO Adam Wilson said, “We have been working hard recently in expanding DinnerIn and are pleased with the results. We hope to eventually cover every region of the UK by early next year. ”
DinnerIn is one of the UK’s largest online takeaway menu sites containing menus from all over England and boasting over 5.5 million hits for the past 12 months. The idea of the website was first derived from CEO Adam Wilson when he attempted to order a takeaway one night. After scrambling through his top draw filled with his local takeaway menus, he thought to himself there must be a simpler way. As a result, DinnerIn was launched in 2009 with the initial aim of aiding family and friends who had the same problem.
As it grew, the website was implemented with a member’s area where users could set their favourite takeaways, search by distance or name, as well as rating and commenting on the takeaways. The website also works on mobile devices with over 65% of users accessing it via tablet or mobile phone.
