Blue Jay Wireless Hires Industry Pro Angela Husney as Vice President of Operations
Dallas, TX (PRWEB) November 20, 2013 -- Blue Jay Wireless is pleased to announce that Angela Husney has joined the management team, further reinforcing its commitment to building a strong group of professionals aligned with the same mission of providing superior wireless service to low income and under-banked consumers.
Angela Husney has over 20 years of experience in telecommunications with an extensive background in billing systems and provisioning at both start-ups and large telecommunications companies. Prior to joining the Blue Jay team, Angela served as the lead Project Manager for Blue Jay's implementation of its billing software with third party vendor BeQuick Software. Prior to her position at BeQuick Software, Angela was the Director of Operations for a start-up CLEC which sold to Dish Network. As the company’s second employee, she was instrumental in the successful launch, development and growth of the business leading up to its acquisition. Angela’s experience also includes senior management roles at Qwest Communications, Arrival Communications and MCI Communications. Angela’s thorough knowledge of Blue Jay’s billing software platform and MVNO carrier provisioning expertise enables her to make an immediate impact to the organization.
"I have enjoyed working with Angela before in a business to vendor relationship," states David Wareikis, Blue Jay President and CEO. "Now having her experience and expertise on our team is a huge asset to Blue Jay and she is a great all around fit with our team and vision."
Blue Jay Wireless strongly believes in the mission of the Federal Lifeline program, and as such, remains focused and committed to distributing cellphones and service to qualified consumers for the program across the country.
Created in 1985 under the Reagan administration, the Lifeline Program was designed to ensure all low-income Americans have phone access to connect to jobs, family and emergency services. In 2005, as the proliferation of cellphones had increasingly replaced landlines, the Lifeline Program was expanded to include wireless service in addition to traditional landline service.
Available in every state, territory, commonwealth, and on Tribal lands, the Lifeline program is available to eligible low-income consumers, and allows for only one Lifeline phone per household. Eligibility criteria may vary by state.
