River Dunes Homecoming Weekend

Friendly North Carolina Coastal Marina Community

This year’s Annual River Dunes NC Homecoming Weekend showcased the warmth and hospitality of one of North Carolina’s finest marina communities. The memorable weekend was packed with great company, an eventful activities calendar, and opportunities to enjoy delicious local cuisine. Over 60 homeowners gathered from far and near to get reacquainted, renew friendships, and welcome new neighbors. Everyone in attendance during the weekend left with a renewed vision for the future of the community and a sense of excitement about the new facilities and amenities planned for the next year in the award-winning protected North Carolina marina community located just off the Intracoastal Waterway.

On Friday evening, a welcome picnic featuring Chef Robert's famous fried chicken was held at one of the custom River Dunes NC homes, located on the Channel. Saturday, a Continental Breakfast on the Sunporch preceded the Property Owners Association Annual Meeting at the Harbor Club. Owners were given a re-cap of 2013 and a look forward at 2014 activities and construction, including the highly anticipated Har-tru tennis courts now underway in the Harbor Village. The completion of the courts is expected within the upcoming weeks.

Perfect fall weather on Saturday afternoon made the planned coastal lifestyle activities enjoyable for all who participated. After a delightful lunch another property owner's new home in Oyster Point, residents set out for clay shooting on the Riverside, trout fishing on Broad Creek, paddling in River Dunes new single and double kayaks on Mill Creek, or taking a nature walk through the new Preservation neighborhood with the developer. Owners also enjoyed an Open House another newly completed home on Oyster Point.

A wine and cheese gathering at one of the property owner's sound side homes, hosted by Watermark Custom Homes of NC and The Red Rickshaw, showcased the home’s amazing views, gorgeous wood floors, spacious patio, and custom marble kitchen.

Following the wine and cheese, owners were treated to River Dunes own version of a "Surf and Turf" that featured coastal NC cuisine including steamed oysters and chopped barbecue. The Harbor Club Lawn was lit up with live music from The Tone Peddlers of New Bern, who got everyone up on the dance floor. The firepits on the lawn were blazing, and s'mores by the fire made for a warm and fun-filled dessert option.

A delicious Sunday morning breakfast was followed by a non-denominational Chapel service at the harborside Chapel, and the weekend activities concluded with lunch at the Harbor Club. Owners lingered to enjoy the warm sunny afternoon on the water.

Panoramic views of the protected North Carolina marina just off the Intracoastal Waterway from a stunning custom waterfront home is just the beginning of what River Dunes has to offer. The Annual River Dunes Owners Homecoming Weekend reflected what the community is all about - bringing River Dunes NC home owners and residents together for great fun, great food, and great coastal living!
