Montreal-based website design company LinkNow Media is a leader in affordable web design and online marketing for small to medium sized businesses. Established in 2009, they have quickly grown to servicing over 5000 active clients with their many design options as well as marketing strategies. They are a small family-owned company and are actively involved in their community through sponsoring local athletes, sports teams, and holding fundraising drives. Recently, they held a talent show at the M-Bar in Montreal fundraising for local youth association Batshaw Youth and Family Foundation.
The Batshaw Youth and Family Centres Foundation support and complement the work of Batshaw Youth and Family Centres. Batshaw Centres intervene with children and families in situations of abuse, neglect, abandonment, and when youth have serious behavioral problems. Services are provided in the child’s own family, in foster homes or adoptive homes, or in residential treatment programs.
Sponsors of the show included Sleeman’s, who donated over 20 cases of beer to sell with all proceeds going directly to Batshaw, Pizza Hut, local vendor Allan Schaffer donated snacks, and Diane Hodges of The Bramble House donated a wonderful gift basket as a raffle prize. The M-Bar, located inside the Montreal M Hostel, also donated the use of their space. “All of our sponsors were very excited and agreed to help us because they believe in the cause”, said Wesley Mendelovitch, president and founder of LinkNow Media. All of the performers were employees of LinkNow Media and performed everything from soulful guitar to stand-up comedy. Thanks to these generous donations and the hard work of all the staff, LinkNow Media was able to donate all proceeds from the door and refreshments directly to the Batshaw Centres, totaling more than four thousand dollars. Manager and coordinator of the talent show Leann Brown says this is only the beginning.
In December 2012,LinkNow Media’s 50 staff members provided Christmas gifts for over 120 children who otherwise may not have received anything. Every employee was able to make a connection with a child they will never meet and get to be a part in making that child’s Christmas a little bit more exciting. This year, they will be attempting to raise the number of gifts even higher. The LinkNow Media team is excited to begin their Christmas shopping for the children. “It feels great to be involved in helping the kids who otherwise might be forgotten” Says Ms. Brown; “We certainly plan on continuing to work with the Batshaw Foundation and hopefully expanding our donations in the years to come.” As LinkNow Media continues to grow and expand their company, so do their efforts to give back to the community.
