The Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction gives students the chance to make a real difference in how people learn.
Paxton, MA (PRWEB) November 20, 2013
Anna Maria College has added a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction to its roster of online programs. Applications are now being accepted, and the first online course will begin in May 2014.
The program focuses on leveraging the power of technology in educational settings. Coursework reflects how technology has transformed the way people learn and communicate and focuses on how to effectively deploy current tools, platforms and resources to create a successful, collaborative and engaging learning experience. These increasingly vital skills have applications in schools, offices and anywhere people need to learn new information and skills.
Students will learn how people receive and process new information as well as best practices for incorporating appropriate technology into instructional methods and materials. They’ll get hands-on practice creating digital course content, then explore how to monitor and evaluate learning. They’ll experience these methods personally through their own online classes, which integrate audio, video and other technologies.
The online Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction can lead to more professional opportunities. Teachers can use technology-enhanced instructional methods to improve the classroom learning experience and engage students. Schools and school districts seek curriculum designers who can help them effectively integrate technology into the classroom.
However, education doesn’t end after high school. Companies require people with technology-focused instructional skills to help train employees and further develop their skills. These corporate educators and trainers design, guide and coordinate teaching and learning materials geared to the business-training context. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment growth for corporate trainers is expected to rise 15 percent from 2010 to 2020, with a master’s degree often a requirement to advance into higher-level positions. Human resource managers, support specialists, leadership trainers and public speakers can also benefit from expertise in technology-rich instructional strategies.
Anna Maria College brings students six decades of excellence in liberal arts education through the latest online learning technology. Online learners can take advantage of a program that is convenient and cost-effective, and offered from a respected, accredited and traditional college.
“The Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction gives students the chance to make a real difference in how people learn,” said Christine Holmes, dean of Anna Maria’s School of Education. “The program is a direct reflection of Anna Maria’s commitment to excellence in education — in this case, by using technology to support creative and engaging learning environments in schools and in the workplace.”
