His Grace Bishop David Has Been Installed as Bishop of the New York and New England Diocese
Cairo, Egypt and New York, NY (PRWEB) November 19, 2013 -- His Holiness Pope Tawadros II, the 118th Pope of Alexandria and Patriarch of the See of St. Mark, along with 84 Members of the Holy Synod including Metropolitans and Bishops have installed His Grace Bishop David as Bishop of New York and New England on Saturday, November 16, 2013 at the Cathedral of St. Mark in Cairo, Egypt.
Up until his installment, Bishop David served as a General Bishop in the office of the Archdiocese of North America in Cedar Grove, New Jersey. He was nominated because of his virtues, knowledge, and wisdom in administrative and spiritual matters. The newly created diocese will include all churches and Coptic entities located in the states of New York, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont, and Maine.
Bishop David will oversee all the pastoral care and all the affairs of the churches throughout his Diocese as well as its theological seminaries, educational institutes, and all social activities as well as any and all future activities and/or projects undertaken by any of the churches, congregations or councils in his Diocese.
His Grace Bishop David will be enthroned by delegates of His Holiness Pope Tawadros II on Saturday, December 7, 2013 at 12:00 p.m. at Saint Abraam Coptic Orthodox Church located in Long Island, New York.
