Modular Housing Makes Mass Housing Developments Possible
Kowloon, Hong Kong (PRWEB) November 21, 2013 -- A range of low-cost affordable modular housing structures, STELETE houses, have been released by Affordable Housing International (AHI), a Hong Kong company specializing in providing affordable housing in global emerging markets.
These STELETE housing modules are shipped from China directly to the jobsites in any global locations, removed from their hi-cube containers and easily connected together to provide detached standalone houses, or joined together to provide duplex or ROW housing or apartment buildings. Modules allow for 1, 2, 3 or 4 bedroom houses and these units and can be stacked up to 4 stories in height to provide any mix of 1, 2, 3 or 4 bedroom apartment buildings.
“The ability to actually deliver housing on a large scale in an acceptable timeframe is a huge problem in most emerging markets that have serious housing shortfalls. The main advantage of this modular system is the speed in which houses can be completed and the volumes that can be achieved. Using relatively unskilled labor, 4 men can complete one house per week. The supply capacity, out of China, where most of the building is completed in a factory environment, is virtually unlimited, so the system is designed totally for these large mass housing projects,” according to Phil Ellis, CEO of AHI.
“The ability to supply volume housing at an affordable cost are two of the biggest issues facing emerging economies, and with this modular system we directly address these issues,” Ellis added.
Modular housing structures start from US$15,000 each (FOB) China, and can be supplied in volumes of 10 sample units to 1,000 units per month. Payment is by way of Letter of Credit to protect both client and supplier. Full on-site training in how to connect units and complete all site work is available.
AHI’s STELETE houses offer an excellent quality concrete structure with foam insulated concrete cores providing 20 times the insulation values of standard concrete walls and 10 times the insulation rating of infill brick walls. This results in significant heating and cooling energy savings and assists in achieving environment goals. It also offers at least 10 times the speed of construction.
AHI is a company formed by the founder and former CEO and the CTO and other former staff of FrameMax, an American company well known for providing cold-formed steel buildings for large global projects. AHI is involved with large projects in South America, Africa, Asia and the Middle East, with production of its patented modular system out of mainland China and design work completed in the USA.
