Record Number of Attendees for the 80th UFI Congress at Coex, Seoul
Seoul, South Korea (PRWEB) November 19, 2013 -- The Association of Korea Exhibition Industry saw a record number of attendees fly in from around the world as it hosted the annual UFI Congress at Coex, Seoul, from November 13th to 16th. The congress, which also celebrated its 80th this year, welcomed a total of 428 industry leaders over the three days from both Korea and overseas.
Under the heading, ‘Managing for the future’, guests engaged in a variety of sessions and networking events. Topics covered included expected trends among future generations within the exhibition industry, alongside the importance of strong digital strategy for future industry growth.
In addition, Renaud Hamaide, Chief Executive Officer of Comexposium and Viparis, was named official 2014 UFI President, as 2013 President and Chairman of the organizing committee of the China Association for Exhibition Centers Xianjin Chen‘s year-long term came to a close.
Coex CEO Mr. Bokyung Byun, said, “The UFI Congress really is incomparable in terms of the opportunity it presents for global networking and top-quality information share. Coex was honored to be the official venue for this years’ event.” The next UFI Congress is slated to take place in Columbia in 2014.
UFI, which stands for “Union Des Foires Internationals”, or “The Global Association of the Exhibition Industry”, was founded in 1925 and is the association of trade show organizers, fairground owners, national and international associations of the exhibition industry. UFI has more than 610 members from 85 countries, including 18 from within Korea, and holds multiple annual events for associates and invited guests.
