Solid Green Systems to Host Open House in Houston, TX on November 21, 2013
Austin, TX (PRWEB) November 19, 2013 -- Solid Green Systems, along with its partners, is hosting an Open House on Thursday, November 21 to demonstrate a high performance, energy efficient home that has a 5 star plus energy rating with a projected HERS rating of 12. Solid Green Systems, along with its partners, will give a brief overview of the building process, introduce partners, offer tours of the home and demonstrate the various technologies involved during the building process. With the demand for green building increasing significantly and expected to grow at a faster pace, there is more pressure for building solutions to reduce the amount and costs of energy.
The U.S. green building market is accelerating at a dramatic rate, says McGraw-Hill Construction's Green Outlook 2011. The value of green building construction starts was up 69% from 2008 to 2010 — from $42 billion to $71 billion — and represents 25% of all new construction activity in 2010. Projections show the market size reaching $135B by 2015, a 22% increase.
Solid Green Systems’ Partners
Solid Green Systems is partnering with Circular Energy (solar panels and energy monitoring services), Houston Foam Plastics (EPS foam for framing and roof system), LED Source (LED lighting) BASF Wall Systems (Senergy Base Coasts, Meshes and exterior stucco), Lennox (energy efficient HVAC), and GE GeoSpring (hybrid heat pump electric water heater).
“We believe that working with best in class partners helps building owners realize the benefits of building ‘green’ and makes the process much smoother. Having a cohesive solution is much stronger than having 'one-off' vendors,” said David Carolan, Founder and CEO of Solid Green Systems. “By joining our Solid Green Systems EPS foam and light-gauge steel framing and roof system with other energy efficient components, including solar panels, energy monitoring services, high efficiency HVAC, LED lights, hybrid heat pump electric water heater and energy star appliances, we were able to build a large, custom home that was built for net zero energy performance.”
