HapYak, the interactive video platform, announced today the Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College, and the Biodesign Institute’s Sustainability Science Education project at Arizona State University are now using the platform for their eLearning video initiatives.

"Arizona State University is a leader in using innovative technology to improve learning outcomes. We are gratified and excited to partner with them to help make interactive video a key to their future success." says Kyle Morton, HapYak CEO.

Arizona State University's use of HapYak includes both an integration with the video platform, Wistia, and also with the learning management system, Pearson LearningStudio.

"One of the biggest problems we face with using online video for classes is making sure the students are engaged and paying attention to the material the way they would be in a classroom. HapYak is helping us solve that problem" says Annie Warren, Project Manager for the Sustainability Science Education project at ASU. "Students using HapYak have told us that the embedded questions are both more engaging and also hold them more accountable for paying attention to the content. In addition, they simply loved these interactive video quizzes."

HapYak's interactive video platform empowers ASU course designers to add interactive elements such as quiz questions, chapters, and links to their existing videos. When the videos are embedded in Pearson LearningStudio, quiz answers are submitted directly to the LearningStudio Gradebook. HapYak produces robust engagement reports that let ASU faculty and staff know who is watching which videos, what segments are most important, and how they can improve them.

Arizona State University has deployed HapYak in selected hybrid courses for the Fall 2013 semester and plans an expanded rollout in the Spring 2014.
