American Association of Arbitrators' New Panel Approves Two UWWM Florida Mediators
Maitland/Orlando, FL (PRWEB) December 02, 2013 -- Upchurch Watson White & Max Mediation Group is proud to announce that shareholders A. Michelle Jernigan and Richard Lord recently were accepted to the American Arbitration Association’s Panel of Mediators and are now listed on Mediation.org.
The AAA launched its new division, Mediation.org, earlier this year to expand the association’s focus on the fast-growing mediation component of the alternative dispute resolution field, according to its Website.
While making the announcement at the American Bar Association’s Section of Dispute Resolution meeting last spring, AAA President and CEO India Johnson said Harold Coleman Jr., a 26-year veteran of the field who has multiple levels of arbitration and mediation experience, would serve as Mediation.org’s executive director.
“Mediation.org is a web-based tool that bridges the day-to-day practice of mediation. It will evolve to serve every aspect of the mediation community with an array of specialized services, including a database of best-practice knowledge, a comprehensive listing of mediation experts, and a broad and deep educational module,” Mr. Coleman explained at the time.
New panel members Ms. Jernigan and Mr. Lord also have rich mediation experience and qualifications. Both are Florida Supreme Court-certified circuit civil and appellate mediators and are certified by the U.S. District Court as mediators for the Middle District of Florida. Both mediate and arbitrate cases nationwide. Further credentials follow:
-- Ms. Jernigan is a founding member, past director and past president of the Florida Academy of Professional Mediators, a member and past director of the American College of Civil Trial Mediators and a member of the Florida Supreme Court Mediation Training Review Board. She was one of the first mediators to be certified by the Florida Supreme Court and has trained mediators throughout Florida. She has designed and implemented ADR systems for corporations on the state and national level.
-- Mr. Lord, a fellow of the American College of Civil Trial Mediators, was a member of the Fifth District Court of Appeals Appellate Mediation Pilot Program Task Force. In addition to practicing in a broad range of areas, he has served as settlement counsel on a national scale. He is frequently engaged as a lecturer on ADR topics.
Ms. Jernigan and Mr. Lord see tremendous value in their new association with Mediation.org and its stated goals.
