Clinovations Launches Center for Population Health Management
Washington, DC (PRWEB) November 20, 2013 -- Clinovations, a leading Washington, DC-based healthcare consulting firm, announces the formation of its Center for Population Health Management.
The Clinovations Center for Population Health Management will focus on helping hospitals, healthcare systems, payers, employers and physician practices design and implement the infrastructure and operating model necessary to support population management and value-based care delivery systems.
“Population health management and other challenges for systems-based care require new organizing principles for those organizations delivering care,” noted Clinovations CEO and Co-Founder, Trenor Williams, MD. “Clinicians and healthcare service organizations are looking for a 'neutral party' to help develop the infrastructure necessary to make population health management practical and tangible. It’s a matter of helping them restructure the way they use existing assets, revitalizing roles and responsibilities among their staff, and layering on some new competencies”
Clinovations has recruited experienced physician-executive Steven Merahn, MD to oversee the center. Serving as a Clinovations Senior Vice President and Director of the Center, Dr. Merahn brings 20 years of incredibly diverse experience across the healthcare ecosystem. He will be responsible for helping both the firm, and our clients, organize and optimize existing assets into a functioning and productive service line.
With the formation of the Clinovations Center for Population Health Management, the goal will be to combine Clinovations resources and competencies already in place to help clients improve both the quality of care and the quality of health for their target audiences. The foundation of the Center’s efforts will be Healthcare Interaction Design (TM), the Clinovations approach to adding value and improving performance for care delivery.
“If 20th century healthcare was about learning to manage molecular and cellular systems, 21st century healthcare is about learning to manage interactions within and between human systems, information systems, and the environmental systems – real and virtual – in which they take place,” added Dr. Merahn. “Our framework for population health management and systems-based care helps our clients get their faster and easier.”
