This patent is an extension to Patent US 7953653 B2 which was granted to Transaction Wireless in May of 2011 and included 21 claims. This most recent patent secures an additional 54 claims which enhances Transaction Wireless’ innovative technology platform. Transaction Wireless currently powers digital gifting solutions for some of the world’s largest brands. This patent further secures Transaction Wireless’ process for the purchasing and delivery of gift cards via the rapidly growing social and mobile market channels.

This new patent focuses on 2 areas: social and mobile gifting. The mobile component of this patent includes sending a gift card to a mobile device with all of the Transaction Wireless personalization capabilities such as customizing the gift with a personal photo, voice message, text message and a dynamic marketing message that is driven by the merchant. Additional features include: the ability of a user to perform balance inquiries through SMS text messaging and transfer/re-gift of a digital gift card to another person.

The social aspects of this patent allows Facebook users to leverage specific Facebook features including friends lists, photo albums and Facebook wall posts; to send gift cards to friends and family members.

This patent increases the Transaction Wireless patent portfolio to 6 granted patents.
