Atlas Van Lines Becomes Largest Van Line Supporter Of Move For Hunger
Evansville, Ind. (PRWEB) November 20, 2013 -- Atlas Van Lines, one of the nation’s leading movers, has been named the largest van line supporter of Move For Hunger, a non-profit organization that fights nationwide hunger by gathering non-perishable food items from household moves and hosting collections to deliver to local communities’ food banks. To date, Atlas and its network of agents have contributed more than 100,000 pounds of non-perishable food to local food banks across the United States.
Atlas and more than 100 of its agents, representing 34 states, are amongst the many moving companies that help create one of the nation’s largest, year-round service programs with Move For Hunger. As part of the partnership, Atlas and its agents are building awareness on nationwide hunger and encouraging household move customers to donate unused food items to local food banks upon embarking on a household move.
“Atlas Van Lines has been an unbelievable partner in our fight against hunger having collected and donated more than 100,000 pounds of food in 2013 alone,” said Adam Lowy, executive director at Move For Hunger. “The impact they are making is incredible and can only be attributed to the team's dedication to our cause.”
“Our partnership with Move For Hunger holds a special place in the hearts of our Atlas family,” said Jack Griffin, president and COO of Atlas World Group. "Not only do we love helping Atlas customers go new places every day, but we enjoy giving back to the communities in which we operate through a non-profit organization that shares our synergies and makes it possible to contribute to hunger relief on a daily basis.”
In honor of its partnership and continuous fight to end hunger in America, Atlas has released a Move For Hunger infographic to create awareness for the issue and highlight how easy it is to help the cause.
