Polaris Library Systems Collaborates with 3M in Library Journal Webcast
Syracuse, NY (PRWEB) November 21, 2013 -- Polaris Library Systems, a trusted provider of library automation software, invites academic, private and public libraries to attend a 3M co-sponsored webcast hosted by the Library Journal.
The webcast, “Turn the Page: Your E-book Future Done Right,” will explore the Polaris and 3M partnership and the impact it has on library staff and patrons as the industry’s first completely integrated e-content solution. Additional topics include statistics on e-book usage, common misconceptions libraries have and how the adoption of e-content technology pertains to library growth.
Panelists will include Bill Schickling, the president and CEO of Polaris Library Systems, and Tom Mercer, the cloud library marketing manager of 3M Library Systems.
“Our fully integrated e-content solution with 3M allows us to better serve our customers and in turn, their communities,” said Bill Schickling, president and CEO, Polaris Library Systems. “This webcast sheds light on the importance of libraries staying relevant in the modern age and we look forward to demonstrating how e-books can transform libraries in the future.”
Libraries are encouraged to join the conversation in a Q-and-A session to learn more about the instant availability of the latest e-book titles and how they can increase circulation and patron satisfaction.
“The 3M and Polaris partnership represents the gold standard for an integrated e-content solution,” said Tom Mercer, cloud library marketing manager, 3M Library Systems. “Given the rapid changes in technology, there are many misconceptions surrounding the adoption of e-content. We’ll dispel those myths and provide attendees with an opportunity to speak with libraries currently using our solution.”
The webcast will feature two Polaris and 3M customers, Baltimore County Public Library and Rochester Hills Public Library, as they offer first-hand testimonials about their experience implementing the 3M e-content solution into the Polaris Integrated Library System (ILS).
“Turn the Page: Your E-book Future Done Right,” will be held December 5, 2013 from 3 to 4 p.m. EST. Libraries interested in attending the webcast can learn more by visiting the Library Journal website.
