CSUSM Extended Learning Announces New Operations Resource Management Certificate Program
San Marcos, CA (PRWEB) November 21, 2013 -- Extended Learning at California State University San Marcos (CSUSM) is excited to announce the new Operations Resource Management (ORM) Certificate Program, developed in partnership with the San Diego Chapter of APICS (The Association for Operations Management). This 6-course program offers those working in operations, planning, inventory management, manufacturing, and logistics the opportunity to gain valuable knowledge and efficacy in today's competitive business environment.
Offered at both the San Marcos and Temecula campuses, the ORM Certificate Program boasts considerable flexibility. Classes can be taken in any order, and are scheduled so that students can earn an ORM Certificate in just over 12 months. The courses provide an excellent review for those looking to earn a CPIM or CSEP certification. Each course is approved by the National Association of Purchasing Management (NAPM) for three points toward the Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) designation. For students who have a CPM, each ORM class is worth 24 APICS recertification points.
"Working with CSU San Marcos on this program gives us a terrific opportunity to help shape tomorrow's operations professionals," says Scott Martin, President of Lyon Technologies Inc. and the San Diego chapter of APICS. "The program increases skill levels, prepares students for certification exams, and provides learners with an opportunity to advance and succeed in the Operations Management field."
ORM Certificate Program classes meet weekly for 10 weeks, and provide a foundation for Operations Management professionals. Topics covered include operations planning, managing operations, inventory management, manufacturing management, distribution and logistics, global sourcing supply chain management, and more.
