PositiveSingles.com Releases Results of Survey About Drinking and Choosing Partners – Women Are More Careful When Looking for a Match

The scope of the research was intended to ascertain the way the drinking habits of possible future partners influence the choices of members of the site who are infected with STDs.
Most Members Don't Care
The results of the drinking survey revealed that over half of the participants thought that the drinking habits of future partners were not a problem when they were choosing their matches. It was discovered that 61% of the members said the drinking habits of possible matches had no influences over their decision of whether to make contact with someone. Also, 22.85% of people surveyed thought it was fine for their match to drink socially, while 10.49 % had high hopes that their potential partner would be a nondrinker. Alternately, only 2.83% of the members surveyed felt it would be fine if the match was a regular drinker, and 1.24% would want someone to quit drinking if they were currently a drinker.
Women More Choosier Than Men
The PositiveSingles.com research also found a difference in the expectations of STD-infected women and STD-infected men when they are choosing potential dates. The men seemed to be more understanding and have lower expectations than the women do. The survey showed that 68.04% of the men didn't care one way or the other about their match's drinking habits and 17.67% thought social drinking was fine. Also, 8.12% of men surveyed hoped their match would be a non-drinker and 2.76% were fully accepting of the fact that their match were regular drinkers. Only 1.17% of the men wanted a drinker to quit, which was about the same as the women.
The dating site's survey revealed that more women members are worried about the drinking habits of their future dates than the men, although very few members expected their partners to totally abstain from drinking. In general, the men seemed to be more understanding and less concerned about their future mate's drinking habits.
