Photographer Steve Mizera Featured at AmericanFrame.com
(PRWEB) November 23, 2013 -- Every month, American Frame, a web-based custom framing and art printing company headquartered in Maumee, OH, features the work of an artist from their online art gallery on the home page of their website, http://www.americanframe.com. This month they honor photographer Steve Mizera. Mizera was selected from over 10,000 artists and photographers.
Mizera’s specialty is vistagraphs, panoramic photographs in which a very broad view, either horizontal or vertical, is captured by taking multiple photographs and artfully combining them. Mizera’s genius lies in his ability to make one image, with consistent focus and light exposure, out of many.
His panoramic images can be printed to create wall coverings up to twenty-feet wide, thereby rendering them more as a mural than a photograph. Mizera recommends printing these large sizes on canvas to obviate the need for a frame. Smaller sizes lend themselves to paper printing and a traditional metal or wood frame.
Mizera’s most numerous and popular images are of the National Parks, where the vast spaces can usually only be appreciated in person. The featured image is of mountains in Alaska’s Denali National Park. The foothills of Denali are so tall it has its own weather. Mizera waited five days in an attempt to capture the peaks clearly, but ended up with a spectacular image of their most common state, surrounded by clouds.
To present “Alaska’s Denali Foothills,” American Frame’s in-house designer chose a very narrow frame in silver from the Radius Colorcast collection. The low-profile moulding and lack of a mat enhance the sense that a viewer is looking at the wonder of nature out a very large window.
