Microsoft Surface Tablet Survives Car Fall Thanks to Case
(PRWEB UK) 23 November 2013 -- Wade Hilmo, an amateur astronomer, had been checking the sky for comet ISON, an object of much interest for the astronomy community. After searching with no success, he got into his car and set off for work.
A few miles down the road, Wade heard a loud bang and suddenly remembered that he had left his Surface tablet on top of his car. He started back to search for it, with a sinking feeling. When he found the tablet, he feared the worst.
Wade said: “When I picked it up, it was clear that the cover had been destroyed, with many patches eroded away from apparently sliding down the street.” However, when he opened the wallet, he found the Surface tablet completely unscathed by the ordeal. The protective cover had done its job and shielded the tablet from any damage.
Wade continued: “I let it boot up and then tried the touch screen and keyboard. Everything seemed to work.”
He added: “It seems like I may have dodged a bullet. I am going to order another Snugg case to replace the one that gave its life to save the machine.”
Les Yates, marketing manager at The Snugg, said: “Wade’s story is really incredible, and it proves that you really need a protective case for your tablet. If Wade’s Surface tablet wasn’t protected by a Snugg case when it fell off the car, it would be nothing more than a mess of smashed glass and metal.
“Although most people won’t be as unlucky as Wade, your tablet can easily get damaged just by being carried around or dropped. We have a range of protective tablet cases for different devices – though we don’t want our customers to test them by leaving them on their car roofs!”
