According to Bob Bueltmann, the Founder of Bassing Bob, “the Lake of the Ozarks Convention and Visitors Bureau an Tri-County Lodging Association are thrilled about the winter time event at the lake and they plan to support the Winter Bass Challenge by promoting the event and the many attractions the lake has to offer to winter time visitors.”
There is nothing more warming in the cold winter than ripping the lips off a 7 pound largemouth bass! Winter bass fishing is an incredible time to be out on the water at Lake of the Ozarks. First of all, there are virtually no big boats and their huge waves to deal with like other times of the year. There are no big boats blocking your favorite cove or ski boats flying past your bass boat. Secondly, bass fishing is a bit easier, considering there are generally only a few baits to consider, jigs, jerkbaits and occasional spinner/crank baits, plus, the search for fish is much easier and more predictable as they are generally grouped up on windy points and along creek channel banks.
If you catch one in a location, you may likely catch more. The lake is often very beautiful during the winter with many days of sunshine and mild temperatures. It’s an adventure that will get you hooked on catching big fish and enjoying Lake of the Ozarks during the winter months. fishing is plain and simple the very best time of the year to catch hawgs!
Winter Bass Challenge provides a payment format designed for all levels of Anglers to cash checks!
