Carino's Foundation holds annual Charity Golf Classic, Raises $213,500 for the Foundation
Austin, TX (PRWEB) November 25, 2013 -- Johnny Carino’s announced today that they raised over $213,000 this year at their annual Charity Golf Classic held last month. This year was extra special in that it marked the fifteenth anniversary of the Carino’s Foundation. The mission of the Foundation is and has always been to seek to improve the lives of children and families in the communities they serve by supporting local charitable organizations, encouraging activism and volunteerism, and supporting education.
“Reflecting back over the last 15 years, it has made me very proud of our foundation and what we’ve been able to accomplish. From the volunteers, to our guests and vendors that have made this foundation a meaningful contributor, we have strived to make a difference in the lives of those in need,” said Creed Ford III, CEO of Johnny Carino’s, and President of the Carino’s Foundation. “Parent Project Muscular Dystrophy, Autism Speaks, American Youthworks and Special Olympics Texas are just a few organizations we’ve been blessed to partner with over the years.”
Each year, the Carino’s Foundation holds its Charity Golf Classic and fundraiser to recognize and celebrate the partnership and support of its vendors. “Our partners play such an important role not only in our business and helping us provide the highest-quality products, but in our philanthropic efforts as well. Without them, none of these great efforts would be possible,” said Mr. Ford.
This year Johnny Carino’s awarded its Vendor of the Year award to Maple Leaf Bakery. Maple Leaf supplies Johnny Carino’s with their table and sandwich bread. “This year, Maple Leaf really set the standard in terms of customer service, product quality, and consistency. They have also provided significant support in our efforts around research and development,” said Chris Peitersen, Vice President of Culinary Development for Johnny Carino’s. “Their support extends beyond business, and into our community efforts as well. We are lucky to have partners like Maple Leaf.”
Since 2005, the Carino’s Foundation has donated $1.5M to organizations such as Ronald McDonald House, Autism Speaks, Autism Society, American Youthworks, First Tee of Greater Austin, Special Olympics Texas, Champions to Cure Duchenne and many more.
