“The current state of the property market has gotten out of control that it not only affects young homebuyers, but it also risks the financial security of people entering their retirement,” warned Rick Otton, the man who brought creative real estate solution in the U.K.
The Annual First Time Buyers research found that two-thirds or 63 percent of first home buyers in the U.K. received financial support when they were saving up for a home deposit, and 50 percent of the respondents admitted that the assistance came from mum and dad’s pockets, (Property Wire reported on 19 November 2013).
The study added that one in five home buyers took around 4 to 5 years before they can put aside enough cash to pay for a deposit.
“The rapid increase of house prices in the U.K. is forcing a lot of people to think of out- of-the-box solutions on how to come up with the money to pay for the house they buying, otherwise it will take them a very long time before they can purchase a property for sale,” according to Mr. Otton during a recent interview for his Power Property Profits Pack.
“Unsurprisingly, people choose to ask the help of family members, especially their parents, to help them get through this obstacle, but they seem to forget that their parents also have their own financial worries and they need the money to secure their own retirement,” he added.
“Rather than putting an unnecessary burden on other people just to reach your goal of becoming a home owner, a better solution to this problem is through creating flexible deals between you, the buyer, and the seller. This way, the seller earns a little bit more cash for their patience while buyers get their houses without waiting years to save up,” said Mr. Otton.
