Inmar today announced that it has been recognized by Supply Chain and Demand Executive for the “Green Supply Chain Award.” The award was for Inmar’s work to promote sustainability initiatives with all trading partners in the supply chain.

The 2013 Green Supply Chain Awards recognize companies making green or sustainability a core part of their supply chain strategy, and are working to achieve measurable sustainability goals within their own operations and/or supply chains, in the areas of Sourcing/Procurement, Fulfillment/Logistics, Operations, Product Lifecycle Management, and other areas of the supply chain. The awards also recognize providers of supply chain solutions and services assisting their customers in achieving measurable sustainability goals. Submissions were judged based on the clarity and content of the goals and strategy (30 percent), the extent of the steps being taken (30 percent), the impact of the results to date and projected results (30 percent), and the form and presentation of the information submitted (10 percent).

Companies working with Inmar’s technology and nationwide returns facilities, remarketing solutions help extend the life cycle of products and keep them viable for consumer purchase. Carbon footprint is also reduced by managing transportation and using facilities closer to retailer distribution centers.

“By leveraging our technology, solutions and expertise, Inmar is helping our retailer and manufacturer partners achieve their sustainability goals of improved inventory productivity, reduced unsaleables, optimized transportation and reduced waste. It’s a win for all trading partners, and helps both the environment and financial performance,” said Steve Dollase, President, Supply Chain Network.
