A morning motorcycle ride turned deadly last month when a man was knocked from his bike and run over by at least one vehicle. The driver who hit him is still missing, but Orlando personal injury lawyer Michael Steinger says the family has opportunity to get help in this situation.

Ernie Centeno, 47, was heading east on I-4 when a car in front him struck a piece of debris, according to the Orlando Sentinel (10.22.2013). The debris, possibly a piece of blown out tire, was kicked up into the air and hit Centeno in the face. He was knocked from his bike and killed when he was run over by other traffic.

Authorities are searching for a gray pickup truck that struck Centeno and drove off reported Orlando Sentinel.

“The police have limited resources and new incidents are happening every day,” Steinger said. “This is the point where the family often feels like less of a priority.”

“The key is finding the driver, or even just a witness who didn't speak up before,” Steinger said. “While police may be overworked, a good law firm can offer a lot of new resources to turn up the driver that killed him.”

Steinger says it's not unusual for personal injury firms to offer special resources to help victims.

“At Steinger, Iscoe & Greene we would hire a private investigator and we would offer a reward very publicly,” he said.

Contacting a law firm can be vital following a tragic accident, Steinger says.

“It's how you pay the medical costs and final expenses,” he said. “It's how you keep going when you suddenly have less income and less hope.”
