Golden Key Piano School Announces the Online Debut of Russian Piano Pedagogy
Berkeley, California (PRWEB) November 24, 2013 -- A new piano teaching program has debuted online to help piano teachers incorporate the Russian Method in to their curriculum. The website and program is entitled Russian Piano Pedagogy and it was created by Katrin Arefy, the artistic director and head teacher at Golden Key Piano Schoo l in Berkeley, California.
“The purpose of the Russian Piano Pedagogy site and program is to enable established teachers to learn about and embrace the Russian Method of teaching,” said Katrin Arefy.
There is no cost to join the current program which offers an introduction to the method with sample lessons and tips for incorporation. The website is open to teachers around the world.
Miss Arefy received her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Piano Performance and Pedagogy from the Gnessin School of Music in Moscow. She is the author of A Thousand Stories for A Little Pianist and the series My First Piano Book.
Miss Arefy translated Anna Artobolevskaya’s First Meet with the Music and Heinrich Neuhaus’ The Art of Piano Playing from Russian to Farsi. She has lectured on the Russian method and specifically Artobolevskya’s method at various universities and conferences in the US and overseas.
“After teaching the Russian Method to students and teachers for more than 12 years at Golden Key Piano School in Berkeley, it is exciting to make it available to teachers as well.
