Wide River Adds 35 Critical Access Hospitals to Its New Help Desk

An online help desk for meaningful use support is now available nationwide.

Wide River LLC, a Nebraska-based Health Information Technology (HIT) consulting company, announces the launch of their new Help Desk with the signing of 35 critical access hospitals (CAHs). The Wide River Help Desk is an online resource designed to answer Meaningful Use measure and objective questions for small to mid-size eligible hospitals and all eligible providers.

“Wide River understands that small hospitals and independent physicians don’t have the same capital or staff to dedicate to the Meaningful Use and ICD-10 mandates that other, larger health systems do and yet they are faced with the same deadlines and similar challenges,” said Todd Searls, Director of Wide River.

In addition to the many facilities who are still working to achieve Stage 1 Meaningful use, Stage 2 is starting soon and it requires higher thresholds on all measures, as well as increased interoperability requirements. Affordable access to expert support and guidance will be crucial to the success of providers and hospitals working in rural and medically underserved areas.

The Wide River Help Desk features a dedicated website for both Medicare and Medicaid Incentive programs with the ability to submit online questions for all stages of MU. Phone support for more extensive questions will be available 8am – 5pm CT. In the near future, assistance with ICD-10 will be offered via the Help Desk. The transition to ICD-10 is required for everyone covered by the Health Insurance Portability Accountability Act (HIPAA).
