InDemand Interpreting Named Official Medical Interpreter Certification Site
Seattle (PRWEB) November 25, 2013 -- InDemand Interpreting, provider of medical interpreting services focused on bridging the language gap for LEP and Deaf patients, today announced that all of the company’s call centers have become official testing sites for certifications by the Certification Commission for Healthcare Interpreters (CCHI), National Board of Certification for Medical Interpreters (NBCMI) and Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID). The testing facilities will test both InDemand interpreters and others in the community.
“The most important thing we offer our customers is our people,” said Andrew Drake, COO of InDemand. “I can’t show someone the quality in our hiring process, or how much every member of our team cares about the people we serve. I can show them the highest level of medical certifications in our industry and that our facilities are official testing locations. This is not about casual interpreting to help someone order a pizza – we are providing critical communications between a doctor and patient. Quality matters.”
InDemand Interpreting is the first for-profit organization to receive approval for an NBCMI testing site. The company’s first contact center in Wenatchee has been an official CCHI testing location for some time. While the company supplies most interpreters on demand by Video Remote Interpreting technology, it also supports the comprehensive needs of healthcare organizations with in person and voice interpreting services.
”This is also a critical step for our interpreters and interpreters in training,” said Hydee Shrader, director of HR. “InDemand is a place where an interpreter can do meaningful, important work and advance their career. We are excited to be an employer where experienced interpreters can grow with tools like additional certifications.”
