Global Relay Has a Double Win at the 2013 BC Export Awards for Leadership and Professional Services Internationally
Vancouver, Canada (PRWEB) November 25, 2013 -- On November 15, the Government of British Columbia and the BC Division of Canadian Manufacturers & Exporters brought together the province’s most prominent global companies at the 6th Annual BC Export Awards to recognize the most successful and innovative BC exporters and acknowledge their status as corporate role models. Highlighted by a roundtable with the Honorable Teresa Wat, Minister for International Trade, this event celebrated companies who have increased awareness of and respect for the BC brand across the world.
Global Relay, a cloud-based archiving and compliance technology company, was honoured with two awards for leadership in exporting at the 2013 BC Export Awards. Global Relay won the Professional Services Award, which is presented to a company that has provided expert advice, technical support or educational programs to international customers. Warren Roy, CEO & Founder of Global Relay, was also honored with the Leadership Award, which recognizes individuals that champion the cause of exporting in BC within their industry or field of expertise.
It has been fourteen years since Warren Roy and co-founder Duff Reid set up shop at Roy’s dining room table in pursuit of leveraging the internet to create the first cloud-based email archiving service, believing that email would eventually gain popularity in business. Fast-forward to the modern day, Global Relay is now an international powerhouse in one of the most competitive and specialized markets in the world, providing compliance archiving, supervision and eDiscovery solutions to the global financial sector, including 22 of the top 25 global banks. Today, Global Relay has office locations in Vancouver, New York, Chicago, London and Singapore, serving 17,500 clients in 90 countries with a strategic network of over 300 partners, bringing foreign revenues of 97% back to Canada.
“Winning two BC Export Awards is an intensely proud moment for everyone at Global Relay,” says CEO & Founder Warren Roy. “We are privileged to have been included in a world-class event that brought together BC’s most prominent exporters with the Minister of International Trade to celebrate BC companies who have strengthened their local economies by succeeding globally.”
Global Relay’s new private $24 million eco-friendly data centre in North Vancouver is an example of Roy’s “think big” approach to life and business. The brand new facility was designed in-house and is completely owned and operated by Global Relay. This development comes as a result of the increased demand from the company’s continuously growing customer base.
Under Warren’s leadership, Global Relay has seen an impressive growth rate of over 350% in the past five years and has been awarded numerous accolades, including being ranked in the Deloitte Fast 500TM and Fast 50TM for three consecutive years, named one of the Best Companies to Work for in BC for two consecutive years, and selected as one of BC’s Most Innovative Companies for 2013. Roy’s individual achievements include being named 2012 BC CEO of the Year by Business in Vancouver, Person of the Year by BCTIA, and selected by Ernst & Young as Entrepreneur of the Year (together with President, Shannon Rogers) in the Business-to-Business category for 2013 Pacific Region.
