Principal Photography Underway for Sequel to “Hot Bath an’ a Stiff Drink”

Once Upon a Dream Productions along with New Deal Studios and Old Tucson are pleased to announce that principal photography for the sequel to “Hot Bath an’ a Stiff Drink” (shot earlier this year in Tucson) began on November 7, 2013 at Old Tucson, Mescal, and surrounding areas.

The feature-length Western is being produced and stars Jeffery Patterson by his production company Once Upon A Dream Productions. Mr. Patterson is quickly establishing himself as a producer of classic family films. Before the "Hot Bath an' a Stiff Drink" franchise, he produced "Finding Harmony" starring Billy Zane and Alison Eastwood.

Matthew Gratzner is back to Direct the film. He also servers as a writer and producer along with Producer Shannon Blake Gans. Gratzner is co-founder and creative supervisor of New Deal Studios and has worked on such films as THE DARK KNIGHT, IRON MAN, THE DEPARTED, HUGO, COWBOYS AND ALIENS, SHUTTER ISLAND AND THE AVIATOR, to name a few.

The Mayor of Tucson, Johnathan Rothschild, and Tucson Councilman, Steve Kozachik, are scheduled to visit the set on Tuesday, November 26, 2013 at Old Tucson. Press is also invited to the set during the Mayor’s visit on Tuesday at 11:30am.

Director Matthew Gratzner and Actor/Producer Jeffery Patterson will be available for live TV, radio, and other press opportunities while in Tucson. “We are very excited to be back at Old Tucson continuing work on the Hot Bath an’ a Stiff Drink franchise,” said Patterson. “This project has been a labor of love, and all the wonderful locals, vendors and agencies have made the production on these films an absolute delight.”

Old Tucson is open to the public on the currently scheduled filming dates of November 26, 27, 30 and December 1. Filming of the sequel is expected to continue through mid-December with additional filming taking place at Old Tucson’s Mescal location, which is a closed set. “We scouted all over New Mexico and Arizona and there’s only one place I even considered filming the ‘Hot Bath’ films,” said Patterson, “and that was Old Tucson and Mescal. The rich history and amazing locations that they offer are beyond compare. I am thrilled to be a part of this great, Western filmmaking tradition.”

HOT BATH AN’ A STIFF DRINK is a thrilling, tasteful, PG-13 rated classic Western.
