Native American Heritage Month Celebrated by Mountain View Girls Basketball Team, Alpine School District Title VII Organization

Native American Culture Night on Saturday, November 23rd at 6:00 pm featuring the Alpine School District Title VII organization announced as benefit event for the Mountain View Girls’ Basketball team 2013–2014 Season. Native American food, singing, and dancing along with a silent auction featuring donations provided by Orem-based Companies, such as – Activz, Food for Health International, Survival Based and more.

The MVHS girls basketball team is excited to partner with the Alpine School District Title VII program to celebrate Native American Heritage Month and to raise proceeds to support the girls basketball season,” said Coach Alan Groves.

The Mountain View High School (MVHS) Girls’ Basketball team announced today that in association with the Alpine School District Title VII organization they will be hosting a Native American Culture Night this Saturday, November 23rd at 6:00 pm at Mountain View High School, as a way to celebrate Native American Heritage Month and to raise funds for the Mountain View Girls’ Basketball 2013–2014 Season.

Saturday’s event will kick off with a dinner of traditional Native American food and a silent auction benefiting the MVHS Girls’ Basketball team. Following the dinner, there will be performances of Native American singing and dancing provided by the Alpine School District Title VII organization. The Alpine School District Title VII organization is a Native American initiative that provides academic support as well as cultural activities for the Alpine School District's Native American community.

“The MVHS Girls’ Basketball team is excited to partner with the Alpine School District Title VII program to celebrate Native American Heritage Month and to raise proceeds to support the girls’ basketball season,” said Coach Alan Groves. “The MVHS girls’ basketball team is thankful for so many sponsors who have also made this event possible."

Orem-based companies that have donated to support Mountain View Girls’ Basketball include Activz, California Pizza Kitchen, The Dental Center, Food for Health International, Food Supply Depot, First Colony Mortgage , Ken Garff Nissan, Larry H. Miller Chevrolet, Mi Ranchito restaurant, Noisebox Studios with David Zimmerman, ROI Solutions, Security Metrics, Survival Based and Dr. David Barry, Dr. Steven Peacock, Dr. Reed Robertson and many other generous supporters of the MVHS Girls’ Basketball team.

“Food for Health International is honored to support our local high school athletic programs during Native American Culture Month,” said MaryLyn Linge, marketing director for FFH. “Our company is a big believer in the personal fitness pursuits made by athletes of all ages.”
