“We wrote The Procrastinator’s Guide to Holiday Promotions to help small businesses figure out what promotions they should be doing during the holidays. One piece of advice was to come up with special offers that could go head to head with those huge deals we see on days like Black Friday,” says Ray Bonachea, VP of Marketing at Batchbook.
Batchbook believes any type of small business can put together a promo worthy of Black Friday, even if they aren’t selling directly to consumers. To put its money where it’s mouth is, they decided to create a Black Friday deal of their own.
“You don’t usually see a lot of special holiday offers from SaaS companies like us,” says Bonachea, “but we thought, why not? What one day offer could we come up with that would be a big enough deal to compete with all those other promotions our customers may have their eye on?”
The offer they came up with was to provide six months free when someone signed up for an annual plan on Black Friday. That’s a 40% savings off of Batchbook’s already discounted yearly price.
They will be sending emails to their customers to promote this offer, as well as making it available to the general public.
“We wanted to test out some ideas that B2C companies have been using for years,” says Bradford Shimp, Content Manager at Batchbook. “We’ll be paying close attention to the results so we can share them with our community of small businesses.”
