This is the first Big Data survey specifically targeting HR professionals and business leaders across Asia.

The HR Big Data conversation has been a predominantly US-led dialogue so we're keen to bring this topic to an Asian context. We're looking forward to seeing what insights are surfaced.

HRBoss ( Asia’s leading Human Capital technology provider, today announced the official launch of their HR Big Data Survey. This is the first survey to directly address the impact of Big Data on HR professionals and businesses across the Asia Pacific region.

Speaking today at the launch of the survey from their Singapore headquarter offices, HRBoss CEO and founder Bernie Schiemer commented, “With so much buzz surrounding Big Data, HR professionals and business leaders are seeking to understand what role and impact Big Data will have on them, their teams and their organizations. 90% of all data has been created in the last 2 years, and this is on an upward trajectory, so they understand it will be important. However there are just so many questions that remain unanswered. What is Big Data? How can Big Data help attract, engage and develop a more effective workforce? How will Big Data become part of HR strategy throughout 2014 and beyond? How can it help me and how can it help my company, in real terms? The HR Big Data survey seeks to address these questions. The HR Big Data conversation has been a predominantly US-led dialogue so we're keen to bring this topic to an Asian context. We're looking forward to seeing what insights are surfaced.”

Schiemer continued, “There has been a glut of surveys done on Big Data, but, until today, not one has been conducted to assess how Big Data is managed and perceived by HR, particularly within businesses in Asia. The main objective of the survey is to find out how HR is coping with the ‘Big Data Explosion’ but we hope the survey results will serve as the definitive benchmark for organisations to determine how widespread Big Data adoption is in HR and what it ultimately means for them. HRBoss is the leader in HR Big Data and workforce analytics across Asia, so it is clearly in our interests to better understand the challenges faced by HR in today’s age of Big Data. We'll be providing a comprehensive white paper from all survey results and this will be made available as free to all survey participants”.

The 35 questions that comprise the survey are based on input from HR industry experts about what matters to them when talking about Big Data in HR. In addition to finding how HR processes work in organisations, the survey will also gauge the perception of people with regards to benefits, challenges and management of Big Data in HR.

The HR Big Data survey is hosted online at and will remain open for responses until the end of January 2014. The survey is directed at CEOs and business owners, C-suite level and HR professionals across the APAC region. HRBoss will analyse all the data received and the official survey white paper report is scheduled for publication March 2014. The survey white paper will be automatically be provided to all participants upon publication.
