NSU’s Graduate School of Computer and Information Sciences to Offer Master of Science in Management Information Systems at Regional Campuses
Fort Lauderdale-Davie, FL (PRWEB) November 25, 2013 -- Nova Southeastern University’s (NSU) Graduate School of Computer and Information Sciences will begin offering a Master of Science in Management Information Systems at several NSU regional campuses located across Florida, beginning with the winter 2014 term.
The M.S. in Management Information Systems is a 36 credit-hour program (12 courses) which will focus on the application of information technology including the collection, retention, and dissemination of information for management planning and decision making. The program will feature areas such as project management, decision support systems, computer languages, client-server and distributed computing, database systems and data warehousing, telecommunications, system analysis and design, human-computer interaction, electronic commerce, information security, computer graphics, and multimedia.
The M.S. in Management Information Systems program will blend theory and practice into a learning experience that develops skills applicable to complex real-world problems. It is designed to give students a thorough knowledge of the field and provide an enduring foundation for future professional growth.
According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, U.S. Department of Labor, Occupational Outlook Handbook, 2012-13 Edition, “employment of computer systems analysts is expected to grow by 22 percent from 2010 to 2020, which is much faster than the average for all occupations. A greater reliance on computer systems in organizations throughout the economy will lead to an increased demand for this occupation.”
The M.S. in Management Information Systems program will be available via videoconference at the Jacksonville, Orlando, Tampa, Palm Beach and Miami/Kendall regional campuses. Students can participate once a week per course in the evening at 6 to 8 p.m.
