Submission of Application for 21St Century Funds to the California Department of Education

After-School All-Stars, Los Angeles (ASAS-LA) is a leading after-school program provider whose programs educate, enlighten and inspire thousands of students each day through after-school activities centered around academic support; health, fitness and nutrition; the visual and performing arts; and youth leadership and community service learning. The organization brings innovative, cutting-edge academic and enrichment programs to K-12 students that contribute to reducing drug use, crime and violence; while increasing their safety during the after school hours. ASAS-LA serves over 9,300 students daily across 48 schools located in deserving areas throughout LA County.

After-School All-Stars, Los Angeles is proud to partner with ICEF Inglewood Elementary Charter Academy, ICEF Inglewood Middle Charter Academy, Lou Dantzler Preparatory Charter Elementary, Lou Dantzler Preparatory Charter Middle School, View Park Preparatory Accelerated Charter, and View Park Preparatory Accelerated Charter Middle School in the 21st Century Community Learning Centers Program.

After-School All-Stars, Los Angeles is proud to partner with Alliance Cindy and Bill Simon Technology Academy High School, Alliance College-Ready Academy High No. 16, Alliance Gertz-Ressler Richard Merkin 6-12 Complex, Alliance Hungtington Park College-Ready Academy High, Alliance Judy Ivie Burton Technology Academy High, Alliance Media Arts and Entertainment Design High, Alliance Ouchi-O'Donovan 6-12 Complex, Alliance Tennenbaum Family Technology High, Central City Value, New Millennium Secondary, Synergy Quantum Academy in the 21st Century High School After School Safety and Enrichments for Teens (ASSETs).

ASAS-LA is enthused to submit this proposal, and, if awarded, provide an after-school program at a school site awarded 21st Century funds that offers students academic enrichment opportunities and activities designed to complement the students' regular academic program, assist students in passing state achievement tests and exit exams, assist with literacy and related educational development services for their families; while providing a safe environment for all participants.
