Greenberg Traurig Texas Attorneys Named Among Texas Minority Counsel Program’s Trailblazer Outside Counsel of the Year Award Finalists

Annapoorni Sankaran and Victor D. Vital, Texas litigation shareholders in the international law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP have been named among finalists for the Texas Minority Counsel Program (TMCP) Trailblazer Outside Counsel of the Year Award. The award is designed to recognize an attorney that has promoted diversity within the legal profession through hiring, retention and mentorship of minority attorneys throughout the year. Hundreds of attorneys from around the state are nominated each year for their commitment to diversity and inclusion, but only a small group of finalists are presented to the TMCP Selection Committee for final consideration for the award.

"I am extremely proud of my colleagues, Anna and Victor," said Ralph Santos, co-regional operating shareholder for the firm’s Texas offices. "Both have worked tirelessly to promote diversity both professionally and in the community. As a firm, we understand that our clients benefit from diversity and from the unique perspectives that women and minority attorneys can bring to the table. We appreciate both Anna’s and Victor’s efforts and we recognize that our Texas clients are better served because of it."

Greenberg Traurig’s diversity initiatives focus on increasing diversity in the profession by increasing access to a legal education for minority students and fostering an environment within the firm that supports and encourages diversity. Greenberg Traurig endorses the American Bar Association’s definition of diversity to support the advancement of lawyers of color as well as other underrepresented constituents— attorneys with disabilities, women attorneys and lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgendered attorneys.
