Avalon Funeral Plans - One Year On For New Owners and New Management Team

A lot has changed at Avalon since the end of 2012. Key appointments and restructuring of the operation has meant that since the changes the business is growing and customer service is at the forefront of the revamped Avalon.

In November 2012, Lonsdale Capital Partners arranged for a group of investors to buy a majority stake in the Avalon Trustee Company Ltd. The management team was immediately strengthened with the appointment of the former Yell Group Chief Commercial Officer, Steve Chambers as Chief Executive Officer, followed in April 2013 by new Commercial Director, Jo Darbyshire, formerly Head of Life Planning at the Co-operative Group.

In July 2013, Jason Gardner, the Group’s UK Operations Director, moved to Spain to take up his new position as Head of Europe.

One year on, Avalon has delivered over 25% year on year growth in funeral plan sales and is implementing an ambitious change programme to transform the business and open new routes to market.

The changes include the launch of a new website at http://www.avalonfuneralplans.co.uk: “Our online presence is set to be re-invigorated with our new website, an online marketing campaign and the embracing of social media” said Darbyshire.

Avalon has operations in the UK & Spain & increased turnover by 14% last year……with the current set up now in place growth levels are set to increase further in the next 2-3 years.
