If you have sat on TNT or TV1 for even a few seconds during your recent channel surfing, you have likely heard the lively music of Tivon "Symphony" Jeffers. Symphony's "Black Friday Shuffle" plays behind the season 2 promo for Major Crimes (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=baeO4nsxyvM). Even if you are not a fan of this spin-off of "The Closer," your ear can't help but get caught by the joyous jubilee of horns and cymbals. What's heard on the promo is a few choice bars of Symphony's worthy ode to Big Band, Swing and Jazz. Or perhaps you've heard his spirit-shaking "Christmas Ghost Jamm Session" - a full-bodied gospel/funk fusion for the season - behind TV1's promo for the movie, "A Christmas Blessing" (http://vimeo.com/79735992). Originally parts of his score for April Baskin's musical "The Prodigal Scrooge", "Black Friday Shuffle" and "Christmas Ghost Jamm Session" are just two of many songs that demonstrate his range and authenticity in several genres of music.
A Renaissance Man of music with a catalog that includes hip-hop/urban, pop, rock, and scoring, these latest placements are just two more rungs in Symphony's ever-rising career. Some of his recent work also includes composing the trailer for Vendetta Motion Picture’s high-powered action film, Killing Khan (search on YouTube or see presentation to the right) and scoring Josh Accardo's silent film noir, Killer Eyes (official selection of both New FilmMakersNY Winter Fest 2013 & the 9th Annual NYC Downtown Shorts Audience Choice, (search on YouTube or see presentation to the right).
Just prior to that time, you may have enjoyed Symphony's featured rapping and original lyrics on world-renown DJ Hüseyin Karadayi’s pop hits, Karacali and Sehnaz Longa (both of which are linked to the right or found on YouTube).
Most recently, legendary producer Skeff Anselm (Tribe Called Quest, Brand Nubian, De La Soul) brought the multi-talented Mr. Jeffers on board his latest project.
