Adacel has been granted three additional U.S. patents for inventions related to the Company’s work in speech recognition technology. The objective of these inventions is to improve the accuracy and precision of speech recognition technology particularly as a direct interface to engage and control advanced simulation and operational systems.

Adacel announced today that the Company has been granted three additional United States patents for inventions related to the Company’s work in speech recognition technology.

Patent number 8,417,526 B2 “Speech Recognition Learning System and Method” by inventor Francois Bourdon of Montreal, Quebec issued effective 9 April, 2013; patent number 8,515,734 B2, “Integrated Language Model Related Systems and Methods” by inventors Chang-Qing Shu and John Merwin of Orlando, Florida, issued effective 20 August, 2013; and patent number 8,559,656 B2, System and Method for Automatic Microphone Volume Setting, by inventors Chang-Qing Shu and Dezhi Liao of Orlando, Florida issued effective 15 October, 2013 have all been cleared and issued to Adacel Systems Inc. The patents will remain in effect for twenty years.

The objective of these inventions is to improve the accuracy and precision of speech recognition technology particularly as a direct interface to engage and control advanced simulation and operational systems. The initiatives embodied in these patents as well as other significant new work are the foundation of a new Adacel speech recognition product that will be unveiled at the Interservice/Industry Training, Simulation and Education Conference (I/ITSEC) to be held in Orlando, Florida during the first week of December.

“Speech recognition technology continues to evolve at a fast pace, but most of the commercial effort is directed towards dictation, cell phones and automating call center help desks,” said Gary Pearson, COO Adacel. “In contrast, Adacel is focused on tailoring the technology to optimize human interaction with computer based simulation and real-world voice command and control interfaces. Speech is the most natural interface and is the key to optimizing efficiency in both simulation and command and control applications.”

Adacel employs speech recognition technology within their line of ATC simulators and training devices, specialized voice input control systems such as aircraft voice activated cockpits, as well as integrating their speech technology with third party applications.
