Swing for Santa Golf Tournament

Holiday Fun and Charitable Events

The joy of giving swirls in the hearts of most people this time of year, and the residents of Bluffton golf communities and members of the Hilton Head Lakes social clubs are no exception. This Lowcountry real estate development is hosting the “Locals at the Lakes” Charity Golf Tournament, called Swing for Santa, being held on December 10, 2013.

Swing for Santa will be raising money to provide children, who otherwise may not receive anything, with Christmas gifts this season. There’s nothing better than knowing that an event such as this will brighten the holiday of so many children. In keeping with the happy tone of this event and the excitement of the season, the sponsors of Swing for Santa have already been holding preregistration parties. It’s not too late to register though; registration will be held until the morning of the event, and there will be a post-tournament celebration at the Frosty Frog Cafe to share in the joy of the day and the spirit of the season with all of the Bluffton golf communities on hand. Not only are 3 top prizes being awarded for best scores, but there will be a myriad of other smaller contests and winners such as closest to the hole, hole-in-one, etc. being held at different holes throughout the tournament. All in all, a fun and caring way to give back to the community at the same time.

Residents of Lowcountry real estate developments will have the opportunity to play for this joyful cause at the Golf Club at Hilton Head Lakes, the lowcountry’s newest 18-hole championship golf course designed by Tommy Fazio. With expansive and spectacular fairways, the course is a local favorite for its hospitable play which includes 5 sets of tees in the tee boxes and only a few forced carries, which players love. The 12th hole holds a particular honor; it was deemed a Dream 18 Great Residential Golf Hole by the Golf Course Homes 5th Annual appraisal. The Hilton Head Lakes social clubs are fortunate that the former builder let it go. Designed by Tommy Fazio, the course takes full advantage of the setting using the natural wetlands and placid lakes to create angled greens with well-placed bunkers. Fazio has the most credits on Golf Digest’s list of America’s 100 Greatest Golf Courses of any living course designer. On any given day, local wildlife can be experienced from the course. It’s enthralling to be able to see animals like wild boar, armadillos, deer, bobcats, and even alligators. Playing golf and witnessing nature simultaneously is a rewarding way to spend a day in the Lowcountry.

The brand new clubhouse, The Lake Club, serves to maximize all social and fitness activities. Large porches are spaces where participants from many activities are welcome. Part of the new The Lake Club formula for well-being is “A sense of perfect balance within...” With the joy of the season, the thrill of competition, the stunning vistas, and very few forced carries, the Swing For Santa event at this exceptional Bluffton golf community promises to be a great day out on the links. Even better, is knowing that a great day outdoors sharing camaraderie with the popular Hilton Head Lakes social clubs will bring smiles to so many children this holiday season providing all participants with “A sense of perfect balance within...”
