Lake Prince Woods Opens Fitness Classes to Public
(PRWEB) November 28, 2013 -- Regular exercise can often be the key to feeling better and living longer for senior adults. Recognizing this, Lake Prince Woods retirement community is opening its fitness classes to the public.
Seven different classes are offered each week including chair exercise, line dancing, stretch and tone, Zumba Gold, balance class, low impact aerobics, and chair yoga. Seniors age 62 and over can purchase a monthly fitness membership for $20 or pay a per class fee of $5.00.
"The key to regular exercise is to find a program that works for you and stick with it," said Denise Brown, Director of Resident Services. "We offer a variety of exercise programs for every fitness level."
Alice Turner has been coming to exercise classes since moving to Lake Prince Woods 11 years ago. "I would miss it if I didn't come," she said. "My overall health has benefitted from exercising regularly."
"These classes move every joint, it seems," added Gene Cloe, "so I feel I get an overall workout."
The social aspect of group exercise attracts Peggy Shackelford, and the other two women agreed, saying they weren't sure they would exercise on their own. The fun, camaraderie, and good-natured joking that goes on makes the time very enjoyable.
